Creativity is the freest form of self-expression. There is nothing more satisfying and fulfilling than to be able to express ourselves openly and without judgment.

You would have heard about the seven chakras (energy centers); it is One Energy that manifests itself in various forms. As per ancient wisdom, when life force energy (prana) comes to the second chakra (Swadhisthana), above the base of the spine, it manifests as sexual energy or creative or procreative energy. Channelizing the energy in the second chakra to enable Urdhvagati (upward rise or progression of Kundalini energy) improves the quality of life.

Daniel Pink, creativity expert and author of A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future, says we are entering a new era – a conceptual era – where right brain abilities such as artistry, empathy, inventiveness, and big-picture thinking is just as important as the left brain’s logical, linear and by-the-number abilities.

With a growing emphasis and value on creativity, the good news is that anyone can tap into its power. Here are 3 ways to spark your creative genius:

Observe

Routine and habit can squash creativity and stifle us. Once stifled, our minds are not challenged anymore. To break the routine, stop and observe.

Take a few moments and notice your surroundings. Notice the color of your walls, the imagery you surround yourself with, the way the keyboard sounds as you click away at your work. Using your senses to observe life invites an awareness of the endless resource that is creativity.

Breathe Right & Meditate

Meditation & breathing techniques like SKY meditation, cleanses our mind of impressions that we have collected through exposure to life. SKY Meditation has proven to decrease anxiety and depression and increase optimism and serenity. Our true nature emerges, and we start seeing things as they are.

Stress free, happy individuals realize their unique capacity to express themselves in their own unique form.

Good Company

Surround yourself with good company – people who inspire you and complain less. They uplift your spirits and prevent you from settling back into the mundanities of life. As Sri Sri says –

“When you go to a person with a problem, if you walk away feeling lighter, then that is good company” – Sri Sri

Remember, creativity is not just the art of writing, or painting or making new things. It can manifest in every aspect of your life. The same things can be done in different and much more interesting ways. Give yourself a chance to explore and you will marvel at the renaissance of your creative genius. You will be able to access more beautiful and improved versions of your talents.

So, get into action and experience the surge of joy, and liberation that creativity brings to your world – both inside and outside.

“Everybody has a creative potential and from the moment you can express this creative potential, you can start changing the world” – Paulo Coelho
